In our first blog entry, we want to share the exciting news that we have won our first award in collaboration with Conscious Impact (CI) a US INGO working in rural Nepal.
Okadaï Award for mobilizing the most people for a cause.
Acta Hoteles took the initiative to organize a solidarity tournament through Okadaï, the non-profit solidarity brand of Acta Hoteles, which works on researching new therapies in the fight against cancer. The solidarity tournament was presented through the platform: migranitodearena.org
The proposal was clear and thrilling: each hotel in the chain would present a solidarity project, and the award would be based on perseverance, the amount raised, and the relevance of the project itself. It was then that Hotel Azul decided to involve Movimiento Mariposa, presenting our project to the competition.
However, like any exciting story, this one was not without challenges. At that time, Movimiento Mariposa was in the process of registration, which presented us with a dilemma. Instead of giving up in the face of difficulties, we decided to join forces with another NGO called Conscious Impact, which has also been working in rural areas of Nepal since 2015.
Together, we presented our projects in Nepal and our impact in rural areas of the country. Our alliance with Conscious Impact demonstrated that unity is strength and that, through collaboration, we could achieve even greater and more meaningful goals.
We are proud to announce that, thanks to our joint efforts, we have won the award for perseverance and mobilizing more people for a cause. This victory is not just ours, but of all the people who joined the cause, donated their time, resources, and support to our projects.
We want to express our gratitude to our collaborators, volunteers, and all the people who believed in our vision and joined this solidarity cause. Without you, none of this would have been possible.
But the story does not end here. This award is just the beginning of a long trajectory of positive impact on society. We are more motivated than ever to continue working on new projects, expanding our support network, and creating real and lasting change in the communities that need it the most.
